The Owl's Ring
Not always having the time to record a podcast episode can be difficult, so I've decided to start a blog post as well for any general thoughts about wrestling I have, from small indy shows I go to, to the big boys of NJPW and WWE.

Independent Wrestlers To Watch Out For In 2018!
With 3 independent wrestling shows under my belt and many more to come, it looks like 2018 will be a fantastic year for wrestling, not just from the big names like WALTER, Pete Dunne, Travis Banks, CCK and so on, but also from wrestlers who perhaps not as many have heard of. With my known support for indy wrestling I wanted to shine a light on those singles stars who are destined for greatness in 2018 and beyond. If you're wondering about tag teams, that will be in an upcoming article.
There is no particular order or placement in terms of importance, these are simply the wrestlers I think everyone needs to go out and see this year, I'll be leaving as many of their social media links as I can as well as any merch links they so happen to have as well as recommending any matches I've seen them in, even if it's just one. Go support them, and tell them the owl sent you!

My Favourite Matches Of January 2018 - Starting 2018 Off Right!
With a new job and therefore more income, I've been able to watch more wrestling than ever before, having access to multiple networks at once and even going to live shows such PROGRESS Wrestling & Apollo Championship Wrestling. This has opened me up to even more avenues of wrestling and will no doubt give me a varied list come the end of 2018 for what my favourite matches are, but why not compile small lists of matches each month, just to show what might be in contention come December 2018! With that I have decided to have a monthly article series in which I talk about my favourite matches of each month, starting of course with January.
Now each article will vary in terms of how many matches are on the list, and I will try and to not order them in any way unless I explicitly say a match was my out and out favourite of that month, also, depending on how many promotions make the list, I might limit it to one match per promotion to avoid any favouritism, which I know the IWC can hate it when people are supposedly the golden boys, unless it's their indy faves, then it's okay. With all that said, lets get into my favourite matches of January 2018!

PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 62: Fear No More Come To Dust Results & Review - Match Of The Year!
My first PROGRESS Wrestling Ballroom show since Chapter 20! With a card I wasn't fully excited about outside out 3 matches, I was a bit worried I would let myself get underwhelmed at most of it, but over hyped at the 3 matches I wanted to watch. It's safe to say this show delivered in spades, while I'd say I still prefer Chapter 55 for my favourite live show, this has to be close second.
Why? Let's find out!

10 Underrated WWE Wrestlers - Pitch Forks Down Please
In WWE we take for granted how genuinely talented a lot of the roster are, and with all the greats brought up over the years, the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret Hart, The Rock, to modern examples such as Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe, John Cena & AJ Styles. We seem to forget that both back in the day and currently, there are many superstars who don't get the praise they deserve, and I wanna highlight some of those names.
Just as a disclaimer, this isn't a straight up top 10 but more 10 wrestlers who I think are underrated. Also I'm not saying they should be considered at the level of the all time greats, but I am saying they deserve more praise than they get, or are sometimes criticised a bit too harshly. Yes I do rag on WWE creative in this list, but I must stress, I don't envy the toil the writers must go through, nor do I think I can do it better without the power of hindsight.
Now, let's get to the names.

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 Results & Review - I'm Not Good At This Prediction Lark
With the overwhelming praise of Wrestle Kingdom 11, this year's had a lot to live up to. With Alpha Vs. Omega, a Hair Vs. Hair match, the first ever fatal 4 way for the Jr. Heavyweight title & the two hottest stars in NJPW fighting for the Heavyweight Championship, this show certainly had the chops to not only equal WK 11, but also surpass it. Would Destino bring Naito to his Destiny? Or would Okada continue his historic reign? This is my review of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12!

NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 Predictions - The Night Of Retains!
Although I don't watch NJPW as much as most hardcore fans, I always try to watch Wrestle Kingdom as it's essentially their Wrestlemania and the card always looks stunning from top to bottom, especially this year. With many matches looking to be legit early MOTYC it's no wonder WK 12 is getting as much as hype as it has been, and with only a couple of days to go before the big event, here are my predictions for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12!
